When the Lord wants me to write on a certain topic, He usually speaks to me personally about it. Recently, He dropped these words into my heart, "Stay me with flagons…" I recognized them as being in the Song of Solomon 2:5, "Sustain me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am sick with love."

I asked the Lord why He spoke these words to me and His answer was, "It is time for the Song of the Bride to come forth." I don’t know exactly what that means, but I do know that the Song of Solomon is a song about the Bride’s love for her heavenly Bridegroom. A few days later I heard this word also, "Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth" so I felt I would share from the Song of the Bride in the newsletter.

There has been much controversy about this particular book, many thinking that it is in some respects obscene, looking at it in the natural rather than after the spirit. It has been "left on the shelf" and has been little used, probably because the time had not come when the reality of it would appear. But now that the Bride has come into a union with her Bridegroom, it is time for her to sing this Song and to know what it means, for her heart is singing it.

There are five Canticles, or Cantos (songs). The first two are represented by Night because of the absence of the Bridegroom. This first night was just before the first advent of Jesus Christ. The third Canticle is Day because of the Bride- groom’s presence. At last He came and is with the virgins of the bride for one brief day. The last two Canticles are represented as Night because He has withdrawn again. The second night will be ended by the Kingdom of God, and the return of Jesus in His people. This is the dawning of the New Day!

Canticle One: Ch. 1:1 to 2:7

1:1 "The Song of Songs, which is Solomon’s." The name "Solomon" means "peaceful" or "prince of peace." God ordained that Solomon’s reign of peace and plenty should foreshadow the reign of Him who is the true Prince of peace. It was through Christ and His death on the cross that peace was brought to the earth. His name is called prince of Peace because He is our Peace; for He came and preached peace to them that were afar off, and peace to them that were nigh. This Song tells of the slain Lamb and portrays His slain Bride. If we have the language of heaven and are putting away the language of the earth and of our flesh; if we are taking up our cross daily to walk after Him, our hearts will open up to the Song of Solomon: we shall know that it is the Song of our Beloved.

1:2 "Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth." It is precious to have received the kiss of reconciliation, but there is another longing in the hearts of those who are girding up their loins and pressing into the Spirit. This longing is for the kiss of betrothal which brings us nigh unto Him in a deeper way, in a closer relationship. In a kiss, we are exchanging breath for breath—our soulish breath for the breath of the Spirit.

With certain foreign nations it is customary to kiss their own hands when they meet intimate friends instead of kissing one another upon the lips, as is the custom with us. How many of God’s people are following after manifestations, and new sensations that are of the flesh in the place of longing for a greater revelation of Christ and His love. This attitude can be symbolized by "kissing their own hands." The "kisses of the mouth" is the symbol of the intimate relation that is between a bride and a bridegroom. It is a token of the highest, closest communion that one can have with the Lord.

"For thy love is better than wine." The word "love" means the continual proofs and tokens of His love. Wine is a figure of prosperity and of all good and desirable things. It exhilarates and gives strength, but only for a time. The love of Christ is better than all earthly good, and gives divine strength that abides. Wine makes the heart warm, makes one bold, and merry, but how much more does the Lord do for those who partake of the New Wine which is found in His Love.

1:3 "Thine oils have a goodly fragrance;" "Christ" means the "Anointed One." The Wise Men brought to Him gold, which symbolizes His divinity; frankincense, an emblem of His glory and fragrance; and the fragrant but bitter myrrh which is a symbol of His fragrance and the bitterness and suffering through which He would pass.

Twice during His life the virgins of the bride anointed Him with costly oils—the first was near the beginning of His ministry by one to whom He had forgiven much because she had sinned much. The other was Mary of Bethany who sat at His feet and listened to His words: this was an anointing for His burial. It is when we cling to a place low at His feet and hearken unto His words that we gather His fragrant oils in our alabaster boxes. It is when he has broken the alabaster box that the oil is poured out upon His feet. Broken and contrite means broken and powdered, made so small it can never again come together in its first shape. The more broken and contrite the heart and spirit become, the more abundantly are the fragrant oils spilled at His feet. It is when we smell the goodly fragrance of His humility that we begin to detect the offensive odor of our pride. It is when the sweetness of His purity and holiness, His submission to God’s will, breaks in upon us, that we smell the vile odors of our flesh, our stiffneckedness and our willfulness, our lack of love and our short-suffering.

"Thy name is as oil poured forth." Mary broke the alabaster box and poured the precious oil upon the Lord’s feet and the fragrance filled the whole house. Thus it was when the alabaster box of His body, which contained this precious perfume, was broken; the oil and fragrance flowed out, filling Heaven and earth. It was when His body was broken, when His flesh was rent, that Heaven’s perfume came down to earth. When He said, "It is finished," the perfume ascended unto God: and there commenced to ascend from Calvary the continual incense, symbolized by the continual incense that was burned before God in the temple.

His "name" signifies His nature. As we walk close to our Beloved, others will sense the fragrance of His oils upon us and He will be glorified! They will be drawn to the altogether-lovely One.

"Therefore do the virgins love Thee." The word "virgins" means the pure in heart, and the same word is translated in Psalm 83:3 as "Thy hidden ones." It is when our robes are spotless that we can draw close to Him; for none but the "Virgins" follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth, and the "Virgins" are they who love the Bridegroom.

When the high priest, who, with the holy anointing oil upon him, had been ministering before God in the Holy of holies, came out and passed among the congregation of Israel, the fragrance of that holy oil enveloped him. No oil like unto this could be made by any man or be put upon any flesh: it could be only upon those who ministered before God, and only upon them did this holy perfume linger and ascend before God. So with those who draw close to their Mercy seat, Christ, and minister before Him; His oils are upon them, His likeness and fragrance surround and emanate from them; and all who come near know that they have been abiding in His presence.

1:4 "Draw me and we will run after Thee." The drawing of God is upon each virgin who makes up the Bride. His hand is cutting and shaping each living stone for an habitation of the Spirit. The hunger in our hearts is but the drawing of God. He draws us individually, but collectively, we all run after Him. Even though we may feel the chastening rod, it causes us to press closer to His side to be comforted. A wayward sheep that has been chastened by the shepherd always presses closer to the shepherd’s side.

"The King hath brought me into His chambers." The King must bring us in! The first of His chambers is the chamber of Salvation. The second is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Then, (Rom. 8:29), the chamber of Humility, through which we must pass before we can put on the attributes of our Lord, or go from chamber to chamber. His supreme purpose is that we might be conformed to the image of His Son and the Spirit gently points out to us the lack in our resemblance to our Solomon, the prince of peace. He is taking us on unto perfection. Before every onward step, there is a hidden place of meeting with the Lord (Matt. 6 "inner chamber"). The chamber of Humility is really the High and Holy place of God. Isa. 57:15: "For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones." This chamber leads into the clearer revelation of our Lord into all the experiences that He holds out to those who will pay the price.

"We will be glad and rejoice in Thee; we will make mention of Thy love more than of wine: rightly do they love Thee." The bride says this when the King is drawing her into His chambers. At one time she rejoiced in what He was doing for her, when she sought the experiences, rejoicing and looking upon them. But when she has passed a little further into the chambers of the King, love for Him fills her heart and she rejoices in Him, regardless of the loaves and fishes or the moving of the Spirit upon the outward man. His Love is more to her than any of His manifestations! (To be continued)

At the time of writing this, Sharon Houck, a new friend, shared this word with me: "It is almost a year now since I had the following dream. The prophetic word about the Refiner’s Fire in your last newsletter brought this dream back to mind.

It was dark out. I was standing looking out over a large body of water. The moon shimmered and danced on the waves before me. In front of me, and close enough for me to touch, was a steel rail like that on a ship or at a dock.

A man walked up behind me and wrapped a purple robe around me. The robe went from my neck to my ankles. As He was wrapping it around me, He continued to fold His arms around me and pulled me back against Himself.

He whispered in my ear, "I would love to hear you sing the Refiner’s Fire."

Quite some time later, the Father spoke to my heart that the Refiner’s Fire is a love song between the Groom and the Bride. He said that it is such a hot love that it consumes any dross (sin) that would come between them. It was so hot that it melts and molds the two into one!
 
 

"And when He had opened the second seal…." Before we go into Seal #2, let us review.

You will notice that immediately after the first seal was touched there followed a clap of thunder. Thunder is usually preceded by a stroke of lightning. Oh, oh! Have a caution; the inner- most being will soon be lit up—exposed, if we have not been conscious of it heretofore. This causes dread to both regenerate and unregenerate. Mankind in general chooses to remain in the shadows while some priest, prophet or other pre-late intercedes for him. ("And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die." Ex. 20:19) Yet, we know we must meet Him one-on-one for a deeper surgery.

In fact, those who have received revelation on this matter have been shown that the inner will be worked over and dealt with until the outer and the inner of each individual come to exactly the same hue. We will no longer be one thing on the outside and something else within.

"When He had opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say come and see; and there went out another horse that was red." Rev. 6:3,4.

Someone may ask, "Is each Rider the Saviour; how can this be so?" I will rearrange the question: "Is each Rider the Saviour in symbolic form?" Yes, definitely so, and I am thinking that each symbolic Rider gives a different aspect of Christ as in Rev. 4:7, as revealed to John.

First, a lion—"the Lion of the tribe of Judah…has prevailed to open the book" Rev.5: 5.

Second, a calf—"Much increase is by the strength of the ox." Proverbs 14:4.

Third, a man—"I drew them with the cords of a Man, with bands of love.." Hosea 11:4."

Fourth, a flying eagle—"the way of an Eagle in the air is too wonderful for me" Proverbs 30:19.

I take each Rider as symbolic of some aspect of Christ and each horse as symbolic of the method to be used as He conquers all within His people; all glory and honor to such a Conqueror! We fret about the problems involved, but the Conqueror has no problem in the matter. His move is so deft-timed-incisive; the "cutting asunder" so carefully planned—the balm applied at the exact moment thereafter. He is our Saviour and He is much more than I can say here!

Recently, a dynamic book on Sonship was placed into our hands. It is called: SON PLACING—A Handbook for Warriors, written by Garrison R. Russell, an American pilot. It consists of 720 pages and he is offering it free of charge to all who are interested in learning about Son Placing. I have 24 of them to send out to those who request them and I can likely obtain more from his second printing. There may be some concepts that are new to you, so if you can’t say "Amen" to everything, just put it on the shelf and read on. It is full of good meat. I’ll give you a taste of what he has to say on "Free Moral Agency."

"Free Moral Agency is a doctrine espoused only by self-righteous Christians. These people believe that their own free will has procured their present and future tranquillity. Since they have already made the correct choice to love God, their doctrine of free will can do them no harm.

"This doctrine then, is principally used to condemn the unbelievers. Once you finally find God and become enlightened to His goodness, Free Moral Agency is only a belief that damns everyone else. The doctrine of Free Will is not good news to the sinner! It is a scaffold of execution erected by the Nominal Christians who are infected with the carcinogen of selfjustificattion. And this to the desecration of God’s perfect plan for every life, His unassailable power, and His boundless love.

"Do you believe that you can alter in any way, your ultimate destiny with God? If so, then you believe that God has spent eons directing the most important project of His existence, and now at the climax of His work, He has suddenly passed all control and decision making to you.

"You believe that at this moment, God fearfully waits, trembling at your actions, teetering at your choices. Fretful and worried, He is on tip-toes, watching helplessly as your bestial mind determines the fate of His work.

"Now you command the future of the universe, deflecting the power and wisdom of God by your wavering whim. Through your tiny and meaningless choice, you plunge His work into failure, or thrust yourself into the highest heaven. What ridiculous dribble. God has not abandoned His rulership of the heavens, or the earth, or your life. Nor has He transferred His sovereignty to you.

"Free will is the carnal mind’s objection to God’s sovereignty. It is based on three precepts. The first is that evil is created by Satan and man. The second is that man controls his own desires. And the third is that God does not have a plan for every life.

"Those who believe in Free Moral Agency think that evil is created by Satan and by their fellowman; never by God. Accordingly they believe that Satan and mankind are now running around loose in the universe, wreaking havoc with God’s good plans.

"These people cannot comprehend that God is the creator, sustainer, and orchestrator of all things good and evil…. They think that God is at war with evil, and that the rumor of His total sovereignty is a myth. This doctrine is the deification of Satan, and elevates the carnal mind of man to the status of creator. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator."

He traces church history and explains very clearly what is happening in our day. It is a must to have this on hand, as he has such clear insight into what is going on today. "It is time for the blurry windows to come clean. It is time for that which has been dull, vague and dim to be made clear, clean and visible. Like a window being washed, like a path being cleared, I am at work, cleansing, redeeming, fully expanding.

"I see the finished work ahead…expansive, magnificent, abounding. I will bring the picture into clarity for you, as an optometrist turns dials and takes the visible picture from blurriness to clarity. I am well able to do this. I am deeply at work, removing the dirt and smudges from the windows within, working for clarity and cleanliness, working to give you a window view of My purposes—a view so clear that you will see afar off and near. You will see without taint, without distortion, without the cloudy blur of dirt and haze interfering with your vision, obscuring that which you are seeking to see clearly.

"For you have chosen a path of obedience and have been found to be well-pleasing in My Father’s eyes, and He would offer to you a blessing of honor: a view from His eyes. You have allowed Me to have My way in you through difficulty, pain and misery. Though you cringed at the cost and the anguish, you have endured.

"I will reclaim every piece of land over which the enemy has caused such grievous battles. I will reclaim even the vestiges and restore every ancient landmark to its rightful place. Woe to those who have moved the boundary marks. It will not bode well for them.

"My own will be enriched by that which I have placed and hidden within them for this time and purpose. They will have meat of which others know nothing. They will have My provision in the time of famine, for am I not One greater than Joseph? Have I not seen the time coming upon you in which there would be a famine of My word? Have I not gone before and prepared the way so that there would be no famine for those who have chosen My way and left all to follow Me?

"It is My Father’s good pleasure to provide bountifully for even the lilies and the birds, and so it shall be for those who are My own in that great and powerful day. For the Lord Almighty will rise upon the wicked and bring forth a manifestation of His power that will rock the universe and embed and impregnate My own with wisdom and knowledge as the stability of their times.

"Fear not the coming times, the times spoken of by the prophets, for indeed dark times are ‘a’comin’ but I assure you that I have gone before. I have prepared the Way. The way home has been paved and you will enter in by a smooth path strewn with rose blossoms from the garden of the King. You will recognize the scent of His roses for they are unlike any other. Know that the passion- ate longing of your Lord and King does pour forth now unstintingly upon those who are My forerunners and pioneers….those sent ahead to blaze the trail.

"This beginnings of a paving structure set forth to make the way easier for those who follow shall be a testament to the honor of those going before, that you have endured hardships, broken barriers, and faced enemies of awesome power, and that you have persevered. You have brought the dreams of the Most High into everyday reality and placed landmarks along the way for those who are about to follow. You have climbed a "Higher- way" and brought forth a time of fruition. You have brought forth fruit that shall remain. Be pleased to accept your invitations to come forth to a gathering at the request of the Most High Who alone desires your friendship and presence as He dedicates this highway to the honor of the Son.

"You have not turned back. You have continued on in spite of fierce headwinds and violent opposition. You have come in to take the kingdom violently as I have encouraged you to do. You shall find yourselves transformed as frogs into princes in fairy tales, as worms into butterflies, as straw into gold, for the alchemy of trust and suffering has had its way and brought forth Kingdom gold in My own elect servants.

"Now you will see what I will do. Now My heart will pour forth that which is filled with transmuted light and godliness. You will find godliness and contentment to be great gain. You will find the gifts of the Most High beyond any gift that man could devise. My gifts are everlasting.

"Your lives, poured out, call forth an answering response. My ear is not heavy that it cannot hear, neither is My arm shortened that it cannot save. So will I arise to bring for My own servants a breakthrough, a deliverance, such that there will be none like it in the annals of human history.

"I will give a recompense to My own, the like of which has not been seen, for they are following steadfastly, though weary and bedraggled. My chosen army is ready for a Field Day, a day of games and refreshment, of restoration and refinement. Now, take a breather. It is time for your refreshing. You have found the Oasis.

"Let My soft breezes blow away the dark clouds and minister refreshing to the depths of you. There has been spring cleaning accomplished. Be not afraid to rest. Trust me to watch over you. Release the tension. You are kept by My power. Rest. Have faith in Me. Abide and rest, for I will watch over you, stand guard over you, as your Good Shepherd."

1--Michele Sperber: This past week I had a vision of myself leading a multitude of musicians as a Maestro. I was tapping my baton and telling the players that they had warmed up long enough! Now was the time for the show. I nervously eyed the musician who played bass viol with some concern that he might not perform in tune.

I feel this vision of being a conductor speaks of conducting all the sounds and vibrations within. Each of us is a conductor, eh?

A few days later, the word "Sheminiah" came as I was praying, which led me to the word "Sheminith." The name means "an eight-stringed musical instrument." It’s a technical term denoting the lowest musical tones sung by men, in opposition to female or boy’s voices.

I wondered why the extra "Ah" was added to the word. (Elaine: I’ll answer this. Andrew Jukes says that the vowel "H", found twice in the name Jehovah, is formed by an out-breathing. This sound, added to Abram to make Abraham; to Sarai to make Sarah, shows how the elect shall be made fruitful—by the Lord’s out-breath, the Holy Spirit. Until we are so breathed upon, we are barren.)

It’s not by chance that orchestra has "to dance" in its root word. Remember my telling you that my dream had the prophecy in it that "The Marriage Supper had come?" I mistakenly wrote you that it said, "has come." Your writing, "It is come" brought that to my attention. At the end of the dream, people were dancing. Oh sweet union, sweet harmony and concord coming forth for all the world to behold. Hallelujah! What a marvelous time to be alive!

Recently, I had a vision of the Lord Jesus tearing open the back of my shirt, revealing stripes on my back. He kissed them. I was greatly encouraged by this vision.

Rest, My child, in your cocoon

Trouble will arise if you emerge too soon.

I am doing a work which only I can fill

Now is a time for you to be still.

I know you want answers to questions right now,

But rest at My feet and humbly bow.

The time is coming and will be very soon

When you will emerge from your cocoon.

But for now I need to teach you deep things

Before beauty and strength comes into your wings.

3—Don Udseth: I’m "nailed" to going into my Holy of Holies, and having my veil rent—a most difficult process, though one that’s necessary, rewarding and undeniable; yet one that pits my sovereignty against His—the limited against the all-encompassing. His choice for this process seems to remain that I go through alone—not having anyone to go shoulder-to-shoulder with—just He and me. And those like you who are afar off, so to speak. He is my teacher.

4—Vernon Francis: In last month’s issue, in a prophetic word, you wrote: "I am forming them into a new threshing instrument with teeth. " A few years God spoke to me bout bringing forth the power phase." He has kept this truth before me and as I read your prophetic word I recognized it as along the same line, only using somewhat different words. I have noticed this over the years, that the Lord will speak something to many people, using different words, but describing the same truth or event.

5—Ruth Tillery: Have you noticed how the Lord is keeping us informed now about how He is getting us ready to move out? Weakness..no big self-importance…no strength that can be subtle pride.. Helplessness…. we have lost our selves and our ability to produce anything without His power within us. We’re always hearing about how important it is to have self-esteem, when He has spent the last 36 years breaking it down so that He could fill us with Christ-esteem.

He asked me on May 1^st whether I was ready or not. "Only You know that, Lord"... and now He is asking that again. He has been giving me dreams and visions about the work that lies just ahead. Dream: I saw a young blonde woman (soul) inside a church. The building was filled with chaos, with people running around playing. The preacher was standing at a stand-up mike, trying to tell them something, but no one was paying attention. Finally, this young woman came up to me and embraced me and cried, "I want to give my life to Jesus."

Then the vision: I was standing on a road (the road of life) when I saw a huge bright explosion at the end of the road. Then, dark scary clouds came out of that explosion. They were moving down the road toward me. Out of the dark clouds came a large truck with railings around the bed of it. It was packed with refugees coming toward me.

I truly believe He is telling us that we are going to have to know how to work with Him in order to minister to them (Rev. 12) and teach them how to mount up with eagle wings. These will be homeless (churchless) refugees, for so many of the churches today are so lukewarm and without spiritual light. He’s going to have to get their attention…hence, the explosion and dark clouds.

Those five foolish virgins who never gave the Lord a chance to get to know them personally will be sent into the wilderness (hard places) where they can buy some oil…and we must be ready to give it to them, as they pay for it with their "lives."

Whatever painful memories, or emotions, fears, or doubts you have in your hearts, put them aside and realize what lies just ahead. Self-pity is from satan. You know where you’re going and what you have to do. Look! Don’t you see Him? He’s moving toward us!

6—Faith Williams: This portion of Paul Mueller’s paper was really quickened to me: "Many thought they suffered in this life so they could help others who are also suffering, and they will, but not in the flesh. All the answers to every person’s problems are to be found in the Spirit and not in this carnal fleshly realm (imperfect). To attempt to speak to someone in the flesh and give them the answers they need is often futile, but the Spirit of Love, or God, never fails. All we thought we would do in the way of ministering in this world must be eliminated from our minds, for most of it is carnal and wrong.

"With our new, correct understanding of the kingdom of God, and of the will and ways of our Father, we now know that our new and greater ministry is a spiritual ministry, not a literal ministry that is of this world. "

As I move among so many people, there is just a sure sense that our Father is doing something very hidden from our eyes—in the now. Again, Paul M. says, "Although we are not now seeing signs and wonders, yet "every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours." This tells us that wherever we walk, those places belong to the Kingdom of God. We are marking out that territory for a future manifestation of the power and glory of the Kingdom of God, our Father."

This is what I’ve long felt as I moved among our neighbors and others in this place that we’ve been planted. Even as the ordinary "sales chit-chat" about Avon is going on, there is such a sure sense that something much deeper is transpiring. As we seek to just be obedient to whatever our Lord puts into our hands to do—He knows what He’s about and here we can rest. We need be troubled no longer by Performance Anxiety. We can just flow with the River of God.

7—Heart Herbs: Recently, some of my close friends have had to suffer heart surgery or strokes when I knew of something that could have prevented that. I feel it is time that I shared it.
